Feeling Overwhelmed?
A poem and a prescription
Take a deep breath in,
and let it all out.
Scream if you have to.
Sing, if you want to
Get up and leave your phone
away from your fingertips.
Stretch.
Plan something delicious to eat
for your next meal.
Drink more water.
Put the champagne in the freezer
and toast to something,
anything, when it’s chilled.
And once the celebrations
fizzle, and once the tightness in
your chest releases, then you can
start to work. Then, you can start
to build. Then, you begin
again.
