It happens in the mahogany aisles of the House of Representatives / in Congress / in state buildings / in The White House / in your local police station / in PTA meetings / in plush chairs where men and women sign laws that make it easier to hold a gun / in the hands of the ones who clutch assault rifles and keep guns in their homes / in the mouths of the ones who speak about mental health and then laugh at someone’s feelings / in the way you haphazardly speak about hurting others around your kids / in the shadows / in the sun / in the way we no longer give one another a soft place to land / in the bullets that we sell / in the violence that we eat for breakfast / in the way we shrug it off / in the way that we move on far too quickly / in the caskets that held one too many kids / in the deep pockets of the NRA / in the way we have stopped caring / in the guns / in the guns / in the guns.

Overhwlemed at where to start shifting the tide so that this madness stops? So that our kids are safe? So that no parent has to experience this nightmare ever again? Check out everytown.org.
