Because the baby is sleeping / because I have work to do / because someone still has to make dinner / because I haven’t showered in two days / because my hair is a mess / because there is a mountain of unanswered emails that are taunting me from inbox / because there are still edits to do / and pages to read / and calls to make / because my feet hurt / because my back aches / because my body is tired / because my brain needs a rest / as much as my soul / because sometimes I like to stay in / because sometimes I need quiet / because I don’t have anything to give at the moment / because I love you / and because you love me — I hope you’ll understand I’ll have to catch you next time.
