I Hope You Hold Space For What Serves You
I hope you hold space for what serves you,
and have the courage to put down whatever
weighs too heavy on your mind and your heart.
For it’s ok to let go of the things that you’ve outgrown,
you’ are not the same person that you were yesterday,
or last year,
or five years before that.
You have made mistakes and learned from them,
you have lived,
and you have grown.
It’s ok to place the heavy parts of your heart down,
and leave them resting upon the ground for good.
Doing so doesn’t mean that you forget what hurt you,
or what broke you,
or what brought you to this point.
When you place the heavy parts of your heart down,
you’re letting yourself breathe freely once more,
and permitting yourself to step into the next phase
of your career,
of your relationships,
and of the rest of your life.
Your heart is a beautiful,
and magical thing — but it can only hold so much.
I hope you make room for whatever it is that you need,
so that it can continue to beat
and with a zest and zeal for life.
