If I Were You

A poem and some unsolicited advice

I would drink a glass of water before I pound that morning cup of coffee.
And I wouldn’t pound that cup of coffee; I would take ten minutes of your morning to sit with the coffee while it’s still hot.

I would listen to the sounds of your home as you sip it and taste the flavor as it dances upon your tongue.
