One Year From Now

A poem

One year from now, where will you be?

Perhaps you’ll be planted in the same spot,
letting your roots dig deep into the soil,
and the space beneath your feet.

You will have cultivated the ground around you,
and harvested the fruit of your labor,
and planted the seeds for a bountiful Spring.

One year from now, where will you be?

Maybe you’ll be floating on a cloud of happiness,
as you decided to take a chance on love,
and the unknown,
and on building your dreams.

You will have defied the odds,
and ignored the naysayers,
and kept your sight set on what you hold dear,
and what you want from tomorrow,
all to bring your vision to life.

One year from now, where will you be?
