They say to be careful when you’re carrying a newborn / cause they are tiny / and breakable / and that there are soft spots on their skull that you have to treat gingerly / that are sometimes covered by hair / and often hard to see / and I can’t help but think of all of the other soft spots that exist / that our vision fails to capture / Soft spots like when someone you love hurts your heart / and breaks your trust / but then…
