as to stop believing in the magic of others. Like the teachers who see the goodness and potential in every child. The 104-year-old woman with a ten-year plan. The teenage boy who stops to give my toler a high five as we’re leaving the playground. Like the docotrs who never let up. The high school students who don’t let their age or experience stop them from trying to make this world a little softer. The writers, painters, and musicians who spin gold to lift our spirits and heal the wounds we cannot see. Like the people who raise funds to help those they will never meet. The ones who have experiened the kind of pain that seeps down into the very marrow of their bones, and still, they raise their voices in support of forgiveness, kindness, and endless amounts of empathy. Like the ones who dedicate their lives to public service. Like those who choose hope — every. Single. Time.
