Twinkle, You Little Star

Astronomers have discovered that stars
are highly musical, ringing nonstop in response to the
fusion energy pouring out of their cores;
so the next time you think
that your wish doesn’t count, or that
your voice doesn’t matter, or that
you should somehow dull your shine to make others
feel more comfortable (the horror) —
remember that the heavens
are like your own personal Greek chorus,
nudging you on to cheer
and to dance,
and to sing,
and to twinkle as your light shines bright.
