What’s Good Today?

If asked you that right now, what would you say?

If I asked you what was something good going on in your life today, what would you say?

Maybe you’d tell me about the accomplishments that are happening with work. You’d speak of the new project you’re working on, the new position you have received, or the responsibilities that are overflowing on your plate, yet giving you a newfound sense of purpose that you never knew possible. You’d tell me about deadlines and meetings and opportunities that you always dreamt of — now knocking on your front door with unabashed glee.

Work is crazy, you’d say, with a twinkle in your eye. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If I asked you what was something good going on in your life today, what would you say?

Perhaps you’d tell me about the way your baby smiled at you for the first time today. Or maybe you’d rave about the science project that your preteen was working on, all by themselves. Perhaps you’d tell me about your adult children — grown and thriving with lives of their own, making you proud of the adults that they have become more and more with each passing day. Maybe you’d regale me with stories about your grandbabies…
