When Prayers Are Not Enough

The glow from his nightlight splashed across his face. The hum of Disney lullabies hung in the air. He was sleepy — droopy eyelids of a tiny baby, and in my arms, and he was safe.

“I want to keep him in a bubble,” I whispered to my husband as tears streamed down my face.
