You Blink

A poem for parents

You blink, and suddenly one month
goes by,
and your tummy is a little bigger,
and your cheeks are a bit fuller,
and you seem to know the sound
of our voices.

You blink, and suddenly two months
go by,
and your clothes are a little tighter,
and you lift your head…
